Upcoming Changes to Utility Rates – January 2025
The MD of Pincher Creek is proposing changes to utility bylaw rates for all users of water and wastewater systems in the MD of Pincher Creek. The MD will be hosting an open house where residents can give feedback regarding the proposed changes prior to anything moving forward.
Open House: March 26, 2025 at 5:00pm at the Lundbreck Hall.
Summary of Proposed Changes
The following changes are being proposed to utility rates (billed every 2 months) for Hamlet residents:

Average Utility Bill
Currently, an average residential household using 15 m3 of water per month (500 liters/day or 132 gallons/day) would have an $87 utility bill every 2 months ($522/year).
In 2025 (once implemented), the same average household would see a $27 increase in their bi-monthly bill ($162/year increase). In 2028, the average bill would be $195/2 months.
For reference, 15 m3 of water per month would be equivalent to roughly:
· 250 showers (5 minutes)
· 15 lawn watering sessions (1 hour)
· 600 toilet flushes
