Rural/Civic Addresses (blue address signs)

Municipal District of Pincher Creek - Rural / Civic
Addresses (blue address signs)

The MD of Pincher Creek is updating its rural/civic addressing in preparation for the upcoming Canada-wide Next Generation 911 (NG-911) system implementation, which is expected to go "live" in early March 2025.

While updating and ensuring blue address signs are correct, you may notice an MD vehicle installing signs and taking a photo of just the blue address signs. Please note that these photos are ONLY for internal MD use and have not been made public. The pictures are to ensure the blue address signs are correct.

The new NG-911 will replace today's analog system and have much more functionality. Your rural/civic address can be used by a variety of organizations - some of which are shown below:

• Emergency services (ambulance, fire, police, etc.)
• Delivery services.
• Utility companies.
• School divisions.
• Energy companies.
• Alberta One Call (Utility Safety Partners)
• Alberta Health Services
• Alberta Emergency Management Agency

Is your rural / civic address (blue address sign):

• Easy to spot from the nearest road?
• In good repair?

If you are missing or require a new rural/civic address, please contact the MD.
