Caution Motorists - Equipment on/near Road Side
As a reminder to all road users, we are currently in road maintenance season and reside in a farming community. Please remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially when sharing the road with large, slow-moving equipment. All drivers must be mindful of potential hazards.
Please slow down, use caution, and be aware that there are multiple blind spots in the equipment. You may not be spotted by the driver who is paying attention to the hazards in front of them.
For our MD operators, rural roads are their worksites, but be aware that they do have to turn on and off the highway to get to where they need to be. It's legal to drive farm machinery on public roads and often the only way farmers can get from field to field. But the mix of slow-travelling equipment and speedier cars poses hazards for all involved.
When you encounter the flashing yellow lights of large equipment, we kindly ask for your patience. Please reduce your speed and use extreme caution when overtaking. Let's ensure everyone's safe journey home!
Thank you
