Fire Ban Changes

Due to received precipitation, changes to the previous fire bans have been changed.

The fire ban for the Town and MD of Pincher Creek has been lifted.

In the forest area, fire ban has been lifted but a fire advisory remains in effect for the Forest Area section of the Forest Protection Area:

· Safe campfires are allowed.
· Existing fire permits remain valid.
· No new fire permits will be issued.

Never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again to ensure it is extinguished. Last year 71% of wildfires were human-caused. We can all do our part to prevent wildfires.

Off-highway vehicles can start wildfires - check frequently to ensure hotspots are free of debris, and make sure mufflers and spark arrestors are working properly.
