Enforcement Services would like to remind all drivers to ensure their cargo is properly secured before operating a motor vehicle. Unsecured loads create a serious safety hazard for everyone on the road.

If you are transporting loose debris or lightweight materials, using a cargo net or tarp is one of the best ways to prevent items from blowing or falling from your vehicle and/or trailer.

Under the Traffic Safety Act, failing to properly secure a load can result in a $486 fine for passenger plated vehicles.

Before you drive away, take a moment to double-check your cargo. A few extra seconds can help prevent collisions, injuries, and damage to other vehicles.
