The MD of Pincher Creek has an Animal Control Bylaw (Bylaw No. 1198-10 and amendments) as well as Bylaw 1272-17 (Chickens) to control domestic animals and activities in relation to them. Please be aware that different land use districts have various provisions regarding the types and numbers of specific animals you can have on your parcel. All dogs residing in MD Hamlets are required to be licensed. Licenses are available at the MD Administration Office an also at the Pincher Creek Humane Society.
The Noise Bylaw (Bylaw No. 1256-14) is to ensure the enjoyment and comfort of all persons in the MD, including the hamlets. Please view the bylaw to ensure that you are following the general provisions.
The MD has entered into an agreement with the Town of Pincher Creek to utilize the Town’s Community Peace Officers for animal control and noise bylaw serices within the MD. If you have a community bylaw complaint, you can fill out the form online https://pinchercreekcitizenreq.portal.iworq.net/portalhome/pinchercreekcitizenreq . There is no need to create an account, proceed as a Guest. When filling out the form ensure that under the Category section, select “Animal Control MD” for animal control and "Bylaw" for noise bylaw.
The Community Bylaw complaint form is an easy-to-use Internet application that allows the MD to accept submitted bylaw issues and allows the resident to check on the request's status using a generated request number.
