Hamlet of Lundbreck Residential Engagement Survey

The MD of Pincher Creek has partnered with Oldman River Regional Services Commission (ORRSC) to complete a study of the Hamlet of Lundbreck. The purpose of this study is to encourage and support the residential and economic viability of the hamlet. The study will analyze present and future servicing needs along with identifying logical areas to support growth. The municipality has authorized the Oldman River Regional Services Commission, as municipal planners for the municipality, to review and prepare the study/report on behalf of the MD.
The MD of Pincher Creek Municipal Development Plan (MDP) identified that planning for future hamlet growth areas is desirable within its land use management strategy. As part of the growth policies in the MDP, one of the MD’s objectives is to sustain the hamlets within the MD and continue to protect agricultural land uses by encouraging residential development in and around the hamlets. In particular, the MDP outlines the following policy:
As priorities and circumstances warrant, the municipality as a follow-up to this plan shall consider undertaking a hamlet study for Lundbreck in consultation with the residents to address: provision of a small industrial area for the hamlet, commercial needs, hamlet expansion, the extent of undermining both within and adjacent to the hamlet and other community planning issues. Given the supply of residential lands within its boundaries, the expansion of this hamlet for residential purposes is not anticipated in the foreseeable future.
The hamlet growth studies are to guide and facilitate the comprehensive planning and development of servicing that will be needed to support healthy, probable growth projections.

Surveys must be completed and submitted by October 25, 2024 to be included in our data collection.
