Safety Message - Cattle Drives

Due to the large accumulation of snow this past weekend, many cattle are ready to come home earlier than anticipated. Please be aware when driving that you may encounter a cattle drive along local roads or highways within the Municipality. Please be patient with the cattle, and the ranchers that are accompanying them, they are just trying to get their animals home safely.

Just a reminder that the best thing motorists can do when they encounter a cattle drive is to look to the rancher (who may be traveling alongside the cattle on foot, ATV, or horseback) for instructions on what to do. If you can’t get this person's attention, typically it’s best to just keep driving forward slowly, through the cattle, and the herd will part. Please do not honk to get their attention! Enjoy the moment and be reminded of our incredible agricultural community.
