Safety on Roads
The MD of Pincher Creek is a beautiful place to go for a drive to take in the country's views. As we are entering road maintenance season, and are a farming community, please watch for large, slow-moving equipment that may be sharing the road with you. All drivers should be especially vigilant and careful to watch for hazards.
Please slow down, use caution, and be aware that there are multiple blind spots in the equipment. You may not be spotted by the driver who is paying attention to the hazards in front of them. For our MD operators, rural roads are their worksites but be aware that they do have to turn on and off of the highway to get to where they need to be. It's legal to drive farm machinery on public roads and often the only way farmers can get from field to field. But the mix of slow-traveling equipment and speedier cars poses hazards for all involved.
So when you see the flashing yellow lights of large equipment, please use patience. We ask that you reduce speed and use extreme caution when passing. Let's make sure everyone gets to go home safely!
Thank you
