Gravel and Grading Work

Do you live in the MD and are looking to have driveway maintenance completed this Spring? Do you know the proper steps to have gravel delivered and grading done?

Complete the agreement to purchase gravel, as well as the driveway grading form. Both forms are available at the MD Administration Office, Public Works Office, or downloaded here:

Return the forms and contact the Public Works shop at 403 627-3130 to arrange available times/dates gravel and grading can be completed.

Note: Gravel will only be available during the regular gravel program and when MD equipment is in the area. Due to liability reasons, the MD will not allow anyone into the gravel pits to load themselves. If a ratepayer wants gravel on their private driveway/lane, the MD will load the gravel, and the ratepayer hires a truck to haul it.

Public Works MAY have a list of the private trucks working for us, but we DO NOT make recommendations for hiring. Extra charges to move equipment may be added to the fee's if the MD is not currently hauling from a gravel pit a ratepayer wants to load.

The MD will bill the gravel at $11.50 cubic yard, with hauling charged by the trucker.

During road inspection, if in Public Works' opinion that an approach needs gravel, the MD will gravel (up to 10 yards) TO THE FENCE LINE ONLY at no charge to the ratepayer.
